InterContinental Hotel, Muscat, is host to an eight-day Persian carpets exhibition that began Monday.
Organized by Persian Carpets LLC, this event offers over 2000 exquisite carpet creations.
This fair is being held once in every two years for past 11 years and feature silk and wool woven rugs. Some of these exotic pieces are more than 100 years old.
Many carpet traders believe that the rates of these striking designs do not do them justice, as many take atleast 18 months of hard-work.
Starting price for carpets at the expo is RO80 and goes up till around RO8,000.
Intricate handicraft accessories, shawls and decorative items are also part of the show.
