The three-day event, Miss Vietnam Jewelry Competition 2007 is sponsored by the Handicrafts & Jewelry Fashion magazine, the Vietnam Gemstone Association and the Jewelry and Arts Association, is about to take place in Hanoi at the National Convention Center from October 17-19.
A large number of Vietnamese women aged between 18 and 27 are participating to win the coveted Miss Vietnam Jewelry 2007 title.
Candidates from Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen and Can Tho provinces are also taking part in the contest.
The contest winner will receive VND75 million (US $4,600), the first runner-up, VND50 million and the second runner-up, VND30 million and all of them will enjoy a trip abroad.
The best jewelry designer will be honoured with special 'Golden Hand' title. The second and third place winners will be awarded the 'Silver Hand' and 'Bronze Hand' titles respectively.
This biennial contest aims to promote and advance jewelry design in Vietnam.
