Making a presentation to the gathering, Dilip Jayawickrama – Representative for MAGIC highlighted that "52 percent of MAGIC attendees are Vice Presidents or above" therefore suppliers are given the opportunity to have direct contact with decision makers themselves.
Minister Amunugama affirmed that "The BOI is committed to promote the apparel industry" and commended the manufacturers for the high labour standards maintained. The Minister pointed out that it is this positive labour relation that has won favour with the EU, resulting in a great number of benefits through the GSP+ Scheme.
