Recently, Chinese Sewing Machinery Association held a meeting in Shanghai, to discuss about '2008 Chinese Sewing Machinery Exposition'. Most attendees favoured India as the venue for this event.
India is one of the important export markets for Chinese sewing machinery. The expo would promote Chinese sewing machines overseas as well as help develop trade relations with India.
In 2006, China exported 220,000 sets of sewing machinery to India, worth US $200 million, accounting for 15 percent of the total export value.
