The fourth Sanlam SA Fashion Week Collections Seminar has confirmed controversial brand guerrilla, Jan van Mol, as one of the international speakers at this year's event.
Van Mol is the director of Ad!dict Creative Lab, a Brussels-based creative laboratory that has developed a system of using creative collaborators from different cultures and backgrounds from all over the world and from over 30 disciplines including fashion, photography, architecture, cooking, design, materials, music, advertising and branding to implement alternative branding strategies for clients such as Diesel, BMW and Redbull.
Van Mol is one of a number of high calibre local and international speakers that will participate in this year seminar. The event was first launched in 2004 to run concurrent with the annual Sanlam SA Fashion Week Summer Designer Collections and Exhibition and consists of lectures, panel discussions and interactive workshops focused on debate, discussion and knowledge transferral that can contribute to the further development of the local fashion and design industries.
Van Mol's creative genius has earned him a spot in I.D. Magazine's top 40 undersung heroes influencing the creative industry. His branding tools includes the Inspiration Shower and the so-called Creative X-Ray which has allowed brands like Diesel, Nike, Thalys, BMW, Toyota, RedBull as well as non-profit organisations, the city of Rotterdam, the city of Kortrijk and the Flemish Government,to capitalise on the Ad!dict approach to future marketing.
