The “Research and Education Area”, in which research institutes for textiles and clothing as well as colleges, universities and other educational institutions are going to present their services and innovations, is being held for the first time at ITMA 2007 in Munich from 13 to 20 September. Visitors will find a modern mixture of exhibition area and lounge on a total of 600 square metres in Hall B2.
A total of 30 research institutes, colleges and universities from 13 countries have registered their participation. Germany has the largest contingent with 14 exhibitors followed by Italy with four. In addition to European exhibitors, renowned universities and institutes from Asia and North America will present their work to the international trade public.
The offer of the Research & Education Area will be supplemented by the "Speaker's Corner", at which experts will explain their current projects, research results and visions in more than 25 talks. The lecture series will start at 14:00 hours on 14 September and will continue until 19 September.
In addition to basic presentation of the product and service range of exhibitors represented in the Research & Education Area, the programme includes current innovations such as developments in the manufacturing of clothing and technical textiles, innovation management as well as new applications for textiles in the construction industry, the transport sector and the life science area.
Four national member associations of CEMATEX will honour outstanding works of next generation scientists and students on 15 September. The official award ceremony will start in the Research & Education Area at 16:30 hours.
