Alaska State Yarn Council Inc, On Friday, September 28, the fourth annual Yarn Expo will begin with classes sure to enhance your needle working skills. Here is a list of our wonderful teachers and their bios:
Lily Chin also known as the world's fastest crocheter. She has been a knitting designer for over 25 years and has appeared on Martha Stewart Living and the David Letterman Show.
Kathy Meggitt is the owner of Valley School of Creative Knitting (SOCK). Her classes will appeal to beginners and intermediate knitters.
Sarah Robicheaux has been a spinner and knitter for many years. She is a member of the Anchorage Spinners and Weavers Guild.
Tara Witterholt has been doing needlework since she was six years old, but recently has branched out into other media. Her focus now is working without patterns and adding embellishment into all kinds of needlework.
Donna Jacobson returns from last year to offer Locker hooking, a great way to use up fabric strips and make a fabulous rug.
Tamara Gagnon was taught many fiber arts as child; sewing, embroidery, cross stitch, macramé, and latch hook, to name a few, but now instructs the vintage art of punchneedle embroidery.
Pamela Gresfrud also returns this year with her very popular weaving class.
