Shanghai varsity grads present China Rhapsody 2007

On September 7, 2007, 89 graduates of Shanghai University of Engineering Technology (S.U.E.S) and IFA French Fashion Designer College (IFA-AICP) created a 'Chinese Rhapsody' for audience in Nanjing Wei Jing Hotel.

The overall style of this graduation show was around the theme of 'China Rhapsody', blending more traditional details and modern international pop elements.

Series included:

Gorgeous aristocrats - mainly from embroidery inspiration of Chinese dragons, phoenixes and peonies flower

Lace - relating to rich colors and happy life of local ethnic groups of minorities in Yunnan

Urban China wind - integration of Chinese elements and urban styles

Geometric series - focusing on skirts made from thin fabrics with lantern sleeves and bubble sleeves

Drape and crease series - embodiment of poetic elegance

Fashion evening wear highlighting elegant and classic fashion of evening gowns

Each piece of work displayed in the fashion show was dripping with creative excitement. Every one of them was not only a piece of fashion, but also reflected the natural and social customs of Yunnan.

It was a visual feast created by combining textures of Chinese garments and western tailoring techniques.
