Vietnam Collection Grand Prix 2007, the biggest fashion designing contest for budding fashion designers held in Hanoi, wrapped up on September 23, with the presentations of 25 fashion collections by the talented designers.
Young designer Nguyen Trong Hoang won the highest prize award of US $2,000 in the event.
There were other awards announced in the event like award of excellent materials went to Le Nguyen Van Khoa; Favorable Color was conferred to Vu Khac Tung. Nguyen Thi Khanh Vy won accolades for Future Designer.
The Vietnam Collection Grand Prix is organized annually by Vietnam National Textile and Apparel Group (VINATEX), Vietnam Fashion Model Institute and Fashion Magazine. They aim to set up a platform for local designers and fashion companies to seek excellent deals.
Examiners board at the contest includes professional designers from countries like France, US, Japan, China, Singapore as well as local ones named Minh Khoa, Anh Vu, Thu Giang, Dieu Anh.
Vietnam's leading fashion and garment companies like Viettien Garment Export & Import Corporation (VTEC), Phuong Dong Garment, Garment No.10 and Hanoisimex would recruit the best designers from the contest for their fashion development plan. This was revealed by Minh Hanh, Director of the Vietnam Fashion Model Institute.
