LA's trendiest bachelor has a stylish new look that's already turning heads. Not bad for a five-year-old.
Though he may not be strutting his stuff on the red carpet just yet, Tyler Beach has set the fashion world on its ... ahem, rear ... thanks to a must- have line of kid couture called Buddha Butts.
Their cutting edge offerings are in stores now just in time for holiday parties and gift giving. "I wanted to create fashions that let kids be 'rockstar cool' and still look great at the country club or a dinner party," says designer Angela Beach, Tyler's mother and the founder of Buddha Butts. "As a parent, I got tired of the cliche, ho-hum khaki look for boys and that over-fluffed look for girls."
Beach, who created the Buddha Butts line in 2006, describes the brand as "sophisticated rocker chic" hip enough to turn heads at holiday parties and to wear at premiers or trendy restaurants.
"Kids gain confidence when they capture adults' attention," says Beach. "Buddha Butts is all about giving kids that swagger."
The zen-inspired garb features fabrics and textures that appeal to kids' sense of touch such as velvet, suede, and silk and patterns that have a certain grown-up flair.
Among the hot items for this fall: Suede jackets and leather bomber jackets for boys and animal print and retro dresses for girls. And nowhere else can you get better offerings for the holidays.
"Boys don't have to wear stiff, boxy dress shirts and scratchy sweaters for an upscale function," Beach says. "Dressy, cool and comfortable CAN coexist."
The line will be debuting Spring/Summer'08 fashions Oct 14-16th at the ENK Children's Club in NYC. Buddha Butts kids' fashion can be found in your finer boutiques and retailers from New York to the West Coast.
