HomeAid Colorado, a non-profit organization that builds quality homes for the temporarily homeless, is rolling out the red carpet for this year's seventh annual fashion show and dinner gala.
The evening is HomeAid's flagship fundraising event to support its ongoing projects, which include a teen residential treatment campus in Lowry, a domestic violence shelter in Longmont and a duplex for homeless families in Loveland.
“Old Hollywood Glamour” is the theme for this year's party, which begins at 6 p.m. on October 12 in the Seawell Grand Ballroom. Hosted by Denise Plante and Murphy Huston of KOSI 101, the gala includes dinner, silent and live auctions, cigar girls and many surprises.
The spotlight will be on the runway, though, as this year's fashion show features clothing from popular Larimer Square boutiques such as Violet, Eve, Mariel, Chromosome, and Loft.22.
Internationally celebrated stylist Tobie Orr is coordinating the fashion show, which includes volunteers, local celebrities and formerly homeless families walking the catwalk. The models will be accessorized with jewelry from Gnat Original Designs. Raul Salon is donating styling services for the models for the fifth year in a row.
“We are very excited for this year's fashion show, which is always a fun evening that brings to light a serious matter – homelessness. On any given night in Colorado, more than 12,000 people are homeless and living on the street. Sixty percentof them are families with children,” said Laura Brayman, executive director of HomeAid Colorado.
“We're grateful to our fashion show sponsors and our year-round contributors for helping HomeAid in its cause to build dignified housing for the homeless.”
Fashion show sponsors and other money raised through the event support HomeAid's shelter development program. Top sponsors of this year's event include Colorado Association of Home Builders, Comcast, Creative Touch Interiors and Qwest.
