23rd meeting of COMCEC at WOW Istanbul Hotel

At the 22nd meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic & Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (COMCEC), held on 21-24 November 2006 in Istanbul, “an Action Plan for the strategy to develop cooperation between Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) member states (2007-2011)” has been accepted and a cotton investment forum was decided to be organized which is going to be hosted by Turkey.

“The Forum on Improvement and Encouragement of Trade and Investment in Cotton Sector” is going to be held on 12-13 November 2007 just before the 23rd meeting of COMCEC at WOW Istanbul Hotel under the coordination of Turkish Ministry of Industry and Trade, with the participation of representatives of the OIC Cotton Producing Countries, cotton institutions, industrialists and businessmen acting in the field of cotton, OIC and its affiliated bodies, and other related international institutions and organizations.

The aim of the Forum is to support investment and trade opportunities in cotton sector of OIC member states and, to debate needs and capacities of the countries especially in cotton and textile industry and to develop concrete projects and offers in order to activate Action Plan.

The forum will provide a medium to put forth cooperation opportunities among sector representatives, investors, and businessmen through bilateral meetings.
