The winner of The Golden Fur Pin Award 2007 was found last night after a big show where all of this year's contributions were shown.
It was menswear designer Hans Christian Madsen who won. His speciality is knitwear and that showed in his collection where one of his contributions was a sweater made of knitted mink.
In the grounds for their choice, the jury stressed that in his collection Hans Christian Madsen combined luxury and applicability and that he was able to stick to his Scandinavian roots. Also the pieces of the collection were very connected.
Of course Hans Christian Madsen was very happy to win and he thinks that the whole competition has been a great experience.
- It has been really fun to participate. It has been very professional all the way through.
He is also pleased with the prize, which besides The Golden Fur Pin itself also includes mink furs in Kopenhagen Purple quality and the opportunity to co-operate with Kopenhagen Studio.
- I am looking forward to visiting Kopenhagen Studio. I would love to work with fur again. It is a fantastic material, says Hans Christian Madsen.
Hans Christian Madsen graduated from the English design school Royal College of Art earlier this year. He has since been employed as a designer at Diesel.
