Prime Minister Khaleda Zia is likely to inaugurate the annual readymade garment show Bangladesh Apparel and Textile Exposition (BATEXPO) at Dhaka from September 29 to October 1 at Hotel Sonargoan.
This 16th edition of BATEXPO will see participation of more than 50 companies and will find foreign buyers making a beeline for products produced by local industries.
BATEXPO last year had witnessed participation of about 150 foreign buyers or their representatives, with over US$ 40 million worth of business booked.
There about 30 stalls designated to companies form China, Hong Kong, Pakistan and Taiwan.
Opposition leader Sheikh Hasina, is expected to remain present at the concluding ceremony of the show.
USA, European Union and other countries across the world buy textiles, apparels, knitwear, fabrics and readymade garments from Bangladesh, today.
