The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie will present its mission and its activities for the first time in Paris at the inaugural edition of Belles Montres, the International Prestige Watch Fair, from December 7th to 9th, 2007.
The Foundation will also stage a unique exhibition on "The Chronograph, an expression of the modern era." Held in the unique setting of the Carrousel du Louvre, Belles Montres will introduce the public to the multiple facets of what is traditionally the preserve of connoisseurs and collectors of beautiful watches.
The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie exists first and foremost to promote Haute Horlogerie among the widest possible audience.
It is therefore natural that it should be part of this initiative and reveal the savoir-faire behind Technical and Precious Haute Horlogerie through an exhibition on an enduring theme: "The Chronograph, an expression of the modern era."
Curated by the watch historian Mr Dominique Fléchon, the exhibition will present some 70 exceptional pieces loaned by watch museums and by the Foundation's partner-brands. Guided visits will be organised each day.
The Foundation will also be showing Masters of Haute Horlogerie, eleven documentary films produced by the Foundation that portray the artists and craftsmen of the Swiss watch industry.
Among the brands exhibiting at Belles Montres are A. Lange & Söhne, Boucheron, Cartier, Chanel, Daniel Roth, Gérald Genta, Greubel Forsey, Hublot, Richard Mille, Montblanc, Parmigiani, Piaget, Vacheron Constantin and Van Cleef & Arpels, all partners to the Foundation's cultural activities.
