B'desh fair runs its course in Kathmandu

Starting December 7, Bangladesh Embassy has organized a single country fair at the Birendra International Convention Centre (BICC). The event will continue till the 10th of this month.

More than 35 esteemed Bangladesh firms have participated in the event displaying products ranging from sarees, handloom products, jute products, handicraft goods and many other items.

At a press meet on December 5, Imtiaz Ahmed, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Nepal stated that the fair would serve as a means to garner trade benefits for both the country which in turn would help sustain peace and prosperity in South Asia.

Mr Imtiaz also emphasized that the frequent interaction between the two countries and exchange of trade delegation plays a significant role in exploring trade and investment promotion areas.

On issues relating to the transaction of good, Mr Ahmed said that “The fair reflects the importance of promoting glimpses of the quality products at competitive price. The fair will further encourage cooperation between the business communities to accelerate the trade and economic cooperation between the countries”.

The fair was inaugurated by Subash Nemwang, Speaker of Legislature Parliament, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Minister for Home Affairs and Shyam Sundar Gupta, Minister for Industries, Commerce and Supplies.
