BREAD & BUTTER BARCELONA, the leading, international “tradeshow for selected brands“, is celebrating the premiere of new concepts 16 - 18 January 2008. Under the motto KING SIZE, the exhibition area is extending to integrate the whole of the upper site of the Fira de Barcelona.
The B&B Opening Reception on the eve of the first day of the trade fair is the prelude to the “tradeshow for selected brands“. At the centre is the Palau Nacional, the symbol of the Fira de Barcelona. With a spectacular show staged by film maker Bjorn Tagemose, lighting designer Ignace d'Haese and show architect Giovani De Schampheleire will illuminate the Palau and stage it with film and music.
The dignified Palau, home to the Catalonian national museum MNAC, will also be a venue for fashion events for the first time: under the name of “The Palace“, fashion shows by Philipp Plein and Custo Barcelona will take place on Thursday, 17th January 2008 in the Sala Oval.
In addition, during the three days of the trade fair, the Palau Nacional will be home to an exhibition by B&B Design in collaboration with two international schools of fashion: the Dutch Fashion Institute led by Angelique Westerhoff and Die Angewandte in Vienna, whose Creative Director is Veronique Branquinho.
20 students from each institute will be showing their work in the Sala Cúpula – a perfect symbiosis of modern and traditional, which is also reflected in “The Art“, another highlight of BREAD & BUTTER: “The Andy Warhol Collection by Pepe Jeans London“, a fashion line based on Warhol's original works of art, will be presented in the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion, an architectural icon.
