Starting today, Scholars Bangladesh, together with Government has organized 'Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) Conference 2007', the three-day event at Dhaka Sheraton.
The event is proposed by M E Chowdhury Shameem, Founder and President of Research organisation Scholars Bangladesh (SB), to recognize the outstanding contributions of non resident Bangladeshis in the fields of arts and culture, science, technology and innovation, health and medicine and education and research towards the country.
Mr Kalim Sharafi and Monirul Islam for their contributions to the field of arts and culture, Haripada Kapali and Iqbal Z Quadir for science, technology and innovation, Dr MR Khan and Dr ABM Fazlul Karim for health and medicine and Jamal Nazrul Islam and Prof Fazle Hussain for education and research will be conferred with the 'scholars of the year 2007 award' on December 29.
Chief Adviser Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed, Foreign Affairs Adviser Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury and Chief of Army Staff General Moeen U Ahmed will grace the award giving ceremony with their attendance.
The three day conference will hold 18 seminars on different contemporary issues, cultural programmes, photo and painting exhibitions of NRB participants, career fairs and publication ceremony.
