After only five years, New Zealand Fashion Week has cemented its place on the global fashion stage as a glamorous event that showcases the New Zealand export and local apparel industry to the world. The event exposes and celebrates their unique indigenous culture to international media and buyers and generates an estimated $19.2 million to the Auckland economy. The event is aligned to the theme of 'artistic/creative' in the city events strategy and represents a signature event where the primary driver is economic benefit and international profile.
From 18-21 October 2005, New Zealand designers will present the first fall/winter collections for 2006 attracting international buyers and media to Auckland City. The week itself caters for the crème of the NZ Fashion industry and this year Auckland City are pleased that the public of Auckland will have access to the Best of Shows which run throughout the week.
