2nd ECO Trade fair promises bright future ahead for textile sector

Starting from July 23, Second ECO Trade fair is going on at Karachi Expo Centre. The four day event is organised by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).

The main intension for arranging the fair is to encourage and strengthen trade relation between Economic Co-operation Organisation (ECO) countries. The organisation has included seven new members, namely Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The fair is expected to promote Pakistani products among ECO countries. The organizers intend to enhance the intra-regional trade in next three years and develop fruitful trade relations with these countries.

The major domestic industries that took active participation include textile, garments, carpets, leather, and handicrafts among others.

The expo got due attention from eminent industrial personalities. The said Event was inaugurated by Mr Tanvir Ahmed Sheikh, President, The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), who graced the event as Chief Guest.

The major buyers visiting the exposition are from Turkey, Iran and Argentina.
