The 3rd China (Dalian) International Garment & Textile Fair (CIGF) was held in Dalian city, Liaoning Province from 28 to 30 August 2008.

Exhibition is mutually sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of People's Republic of China and Dalian Municipal people's Government.

Reportedly, Fair attracted 460 exhibitors from over 40 domestic cities and 11 foreign countries such as Japan, South Korea and Italy.

However, this year Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) also participated in this event.

HKTDC is a 40-year old organization dedicated to helping enterprises, especially from textile and clothing industry, to expand their markets, popularize Hong Kong's image on international arena and offer them a favourable trade environment.

Experts say that while many China Mainland companies are looking to enter global market through Hong Kong in these tough times, Hong Kong manufacturers wish to penetrate the huge Chinese market. Thus, presence of HKTDC at CIGF is bound to be mutually beneficial.
