500 exhibitors to feature at home textiles expo 'EVTEKS'

The latest innovations and creative designs of Turkish home textiles meet with international manufacturers and investors at EVTEKS on May 20–24, 2009 at Istanbul CNR Expo. Lenzing, Comersan, Microfibres, Tanriverdi, Birillant, Zorlu, Ozdilek, Soley and Sarar are among the 500 exhibitor companies at the fair.
As being the 3rd biggest market in the world with it production capacity in home textiles, Turkey brings the investors together at CNR Expo through 15th Istanbul Home Textiles Exhibition. EVTEKS 2009 will be organized in 11 halls and at an area of 150.000 sqm. A total number of 100.000 visitors are expected to this gigantic organization hosting such well known brands as Tanriverdi, Brillant, Zorlu, Ozdilek, Soley, Vanelli, Evita, Sarar, Aydin Tekstil, Broderi Narin, Lenzing, Algemene, Comersan, Dicitex Decor, Bruvatex and Microfibres.
FAMOUS TEXTILE DESIGNERS MET AT EVTEKS 2008:
World-renowned home textile designers as Gunnar Frank, Karim Rashid and Ornella Bignami discussed about the new season and trends in detail in last year's show. And the “Trend Area” designed by “Gunnar Frank” was the center of attention with its different concept. The “Trend Area” is again planned to organize in 2009, setting the trends of the following year.
OVER 100 INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITORS:
The target is to bring over 100 international exhibitors from all around the world including Spain, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Austria, The Netherlands, Greece, Canada, The USA, Egypt, Syria and India. The number of international exhibitors in the previous exhibition was 95.
A high interest from the European countries is expected to EVTEKS 2009. The countries from which EVTEKS hosted visitors in 2008 were Germany, Italy, France, Greece, The Netherlands, Bulgaria, Romania, Spain, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Ukraine, Croatia and Austria. The same countries are expected to send the highest number of visitors in EVTEKS 2009 together with Russia, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Morocco, Iran and The USA. And the total number of international visitors expected to EVTEKS 2009 is 20.000.
The special “Hosted Buyer Program” will be organized by Undersecretariat for Foreign Trade. In the scope of this program, buying groups from various countries including Belgium, The UK, Spain, Israel, Greece, India and Canada will be hosted during this period.
The 14th edition of the fair, organized with the participation of 740 companies, hosted a total number of 81,000 visitors, 18.000 of which were international. The most important development was that when the quality and workmanship is taken into account, European and American buyer companies preferred Turkey. It is anticipated that this move will keep its progress in 2009.
