In 2008 the total turnover of the German tanning industry reached 400 million EURO and the number of employees amounted to 2,500. Due to the local resources of the high quality German hides, bovine and calf leathers are prevailing in the overall production.
A wide range of environmentally friendly production techniques ensures the protection of natural resources and the absence of harmful substances in the finished product.
