The textile sector based in Arequipa was able to bag orders amounting to US $300,000 during the Peru Moda 2010 International Fair.

This was disclosed by Ignacio Rivera Castillo, Coordinator of the PromPeru's Macro-Regional Office of Exports.

He said that, this amount could further increase as overseas buyers had evinced keen interest in goods and products made from alpaca fibre.

About 20 textile and handicraft companies from Arequipa partook in the trade fair. Foreign buyers also came to visit textile production facilities.
