Angeleno bags Lucie's 'Fashion Layout of the Year' Award

The International Photography Awards (IPA) announced the winners of The 3rd Annual Lucie Awards the only ceremony honoring the greatest achievements in photography.
Modern Luxury is pleased to announce that its title, Angeleno, which featured a February 2005 fashion layout of actress Scarlett Johansson, won for Fashion Layout of the Year.
The feature brought together the artistic vision of Modern Luxury's Creative & Fashion Director, Ann Song, with photographer Sheryl Nields and succeeded in beating out a huge field of prestigious contenders, including French Elle, Italian Glamour, Bride and Movieline.
Angeleno is the first regional magazine ever to win a Lucie award.
The Lucie Awards recognizes the achievements of the world's finest creative directors and photographers with categories including fashion, entertainment, advertising, portraiture, fine art, photojournalism, documentary, and lifetime achievement.
The Lucie Awards is the only ceremony of its kind and is the photography community's equivalent of the Oscars.
The spirit behind the Lucie Awards ceremony is to salute those in the creative world who are an integral part of crafting an image, discover new and emerging talent, and promote the appreciation of photography.
Award recipients are presented with a "Lucie" statue, which was influenced by photographers Frantisek Drtikol and E. O. Hoppe.
Previous winners of this influential award include Gordon Parks, Annie Leibovitz, Herb Ritts, Helmut Newton, Sylvia Plachy, Robert Evans, Time magazine, and The New York Times.
