Rent the Runway, the leading online destination for dress and accessories rentals, has kicked off a national search for "Runway Reps" at more than 30 campuses nationwide. Each of the participating campuses will have 2 to 3 Runway Reps per campus, who will experience the best of designer fashion while being charged with integrating Rent the Runway into their campus through grass roots marketing efforts, public relations and event planning.
Jennifer Hyman, CEO and co-founder of Rent the Runway said, "College aged women currently account for approximately 20 percent of our customers and are already renting for all of the occasions in their lives, whether it is sorority recruitment, date functions, 21st birthdays, tailgating parties, spring break, or graduation. Our Runway Reps will help increase our presence on campuses, while also giving college students the opportunity to gain applicable entrepreneurial skills."
The Runway Rep program will kick-off on August 30th with a campus tour to Duke University, University of North Carolina, University of South Carolina and University of Virginia where Runway Reps will plan and execute Rent the Runway fashion shows and private renting events.
Taylor Walters, a University of North Carolina rep commented, "The Runway Rep program is the ultimate internship experience. I'm so ecstatic to help my fellow students learn about Rent the Runway so they can wear designer dresses to all their social events." Runway Reps will receive professional mentoring to help build their resumes, earn credits to Rent the Runway, compete for cash prizes, and earn the opportunity to apply for summer internships with Rent the Runway in New York City.
Participating Runway Rep campuses include: Clemson University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Duke University, Emory University, George Washington University, Indiana University, Louisiana State University, Northwestern University, Ohio State University, Penn State University, Princeton University, Southern Methodist University, Stanford University, Syracuse University, University of Alabama, University of California Los Angeles, University of Colorado, University of Florida, University of Georgia, University of Kentucky, University of Mississippi, University of North Carolina, University of South Carolina, University of Southern California, University of Tennessee, University of Texas, University of Virginia, University of Wisconsin, Vanderbilt University and Yale University.
