Making her Dubai debut at the Dubai Fashion Week during 24th October, 2010 to 28th October, 2010 at atlantis, United Arab Emirates, Indian designer Divya Oswal showcased her line of Indo-Arab creations. The designer set the stage ablaze with outfits in a vibrant colour palette ranging from gorgeous wine reds to stunning ivory.

Renowned for her penchant for using luxurious fabrics and trimmings in her creations, the collection made generous use of crystals in the form of dew like embellishments on satin roses bordering a navy blue evening gown.

A short coat of black velvet was embroidered with silver and metallic blue thread, worn over a minimally embellished white salwar kameez as Grecian gowns were held at the shoulder with encrusted shoulder pins. Individual pieces of georgette, crepe, chiffon and velvet were worn with each other to achieve spectacular results.

Ornate waistbands and flouncy sleeves made their way into the creations as plain silk and chiffon gowns were embellished with elaborately decorated necklines. Long cowl sleeves attached to the hem of the gowns carried bands of crystals running down the fabric. A red empire-waist gown with purple sections on its bust and skirt-ends wowed the crowd, as did a double shaded outfit in blue-black silk.

Ingenious combinations of different tints and tones of a single colour for an entire ensemble were followed by baby blue gowns seamlessly flowing into flouncy sleeves of teal. Blending the traditional Arabic silhouettes with Indian cuts and vice versa, the creations were sheer poetry in motion.
