Tunisia remains an important player in the industry On February 9, Zoom by Fatex and Tunisia Export(CEPEX) presented a conference on the current economic situation to discuss the Tunisian textile industry. Monsieur Abdelatif Hamam, President and General Director of CEPEX explained that all infrastructures linked to commerce and export function normally and that though the “Jasmine Revolution” will certainly have an impact on the economy, the recognized performances of companies and costs should not be significantly effected. Monsieur Hamam acknowledged the textile industry employees who were able to preserve their equipment and customer orders early on as events were developing.
