Tbilisi Fashion Week is the most creative and innovative event of Georgian Fashion Calendar. Tbilisi Fashion Week will be held 3-8 May, 2011 already the fourth time in Georgia. This year Tbilisi Fashion Week will be officially presented by Radio Broadcasting “The Voice of Abkhazia”, the official host will be the “Sheraton Metechi Palace” Hotel, where the majority of runway shows will be held. The partners of Tbilisi Fashion Week are the Georgian Academy of Art and Goethe Institute, which are offering a reward for Winner Newcomer Designer.
The opening ceremony of Tbilisi Fashion Week on 3rd of May, 2011 coincides with the 20 - year Anniversary of Sheraton Metechi Palace. Sheraton Metechi Palace will celebrate this date with the opening ceremony of Tbilisi Fashion Week.
The Organizers of Tbilisi Fashion Week – Tako Chkheidze (Geomodels) and Mariam Kubusidze (Georgian Events) hold the press conference at Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel, where the future plans of the organizing committee were announced.
The Autumn-Winter Collection 2011-2012 of Tbilisi Fashion Week will be presented by 13 leading and 14 newcomer designers of Georgia. The backstage photographer Vincent Lappartient and French Musician Alexander Maxwell will work together with Georgian Designers.
Vincent Lappartient has worked for Chanel, Yves Saint Lauren, Sonya Rachel, Dior, Hermes, Lanvin and other famous designers' backstage shooting during Paris Fashion Week. The Musician Alexander Maxwell is composing the catwalk music for each designer's runway show. Tbilisi Fashion Week will be attended by ESMOD and Galeries Lafayette representatives, by worldwide prominent Fashion Magazine Critics and Buyers from France, USA, Belgium, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Belarus etc.
The famous Georgian Designers who live and work abroad are taking part in Tbilisi Fashion Week: George Shagashvili (Denmark), Anna Miminoshvili (Moscow), Demna Gvasalia (Paris). The majority of runway shows of Tbilisi Fashion Week will be held at the Ballroom and in the Fashion Tent located in the yard of Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel. However, the interesting and alternative venues will be used during the TFW.
The Week will be closed on 8 of May with the selection tour of worldwide famous model competition, which will be held in Georgia. FORD MODELS SUPERMODEL OF THE WORLD – was interested also with Georgia and together with other 50 countries begins to search for a new faces also in Georgia. Also the Exhibition of Accessories, Showrooms and Master Classes will be arranged during Tbilisi Fashion Week.
