UK-based Bindatex, which offers specialist processing and cutting services, is working on new sensors for its machines to track their performance, according to managing director Chris Lever, who said the firm digitally records widths of spooling, allowing it to monitor slit width and provide documentary evidence to guarantee specification to the customer.

The company has also developed the machining technology that enables slitting composites and materials to 1 mm in width, he told Fibre2Fashion in an interview. Few companies have the capability to do this right now, he added. (DS)
