German textile technologies producer Mayer & Cie will introduce the Spinit 3.0 E in its stand at the upcoming ITMA Asia, which begins in October. The Spinit 3.0 E spinning and knitting machine combines three operations like spinning, cleaning and knitting, and is the first machine type to be equipped with the company's spinit systems technology.

“The Spinit 3.0 E by combining the three process steps, spinning, cleaning and knitting makes the rewinding process redundant,” Mayer & Cie said.

“Using the false twist spinning process, roving is converted directly into knit fabrics, which is very soft, fluffy and even, with a slight sheen, and the stitches do not twist after washing,” it added.

The Spinit 3.0 E comes loaded with a Fancy module, which offers fancy patterns and enables the Spinit to vary the fineness of yarn, during the production process and create entirely new patterns that cannot be knitted in any other way.

According to the company, apart from these benefits, the technology offers significant reduction in process time, due to the combination of the three process steps and also marked savings in cost and space. (AR)
