During January-July 2006, China imported 1088 warp knitting machines, up 13.93 percent from the same period of last year, with import value at US $123 million, gaining 81.04 percent.
Average import price was $113,000 per set, rising 58.91 percent, according to the General Administration of Customs.
The top five importers in quantity were Guangdong at 304 sets, falling 20.83 percent; Fujian at 249 sets, gaining 44.77 percent; Zhejing with 219 sets, jumping 123.47 percent; Guangxi at 206 sets, sharp rise of 267.86 percent; Jiangsu imported 71 sets, down 26.80 percent.
