During January-July 2006, China imported 6875 air-jet looms, up 19.54 percent, with import value at US $241 million, rising 20.21 percent.
Average import price was $35100 per set, 0.56 percent over last year, according to the General Administration of Customs.
The top 5 importers in accumulative quantity were Jiangsu with 3812 sets, showing a jump of 165.83 percent; Shangdong with 766 sets, down 63.85 percent; Zhejiang with 757 sets, growing 76.56 percent; Guangdong with 642 sets, ascending 154.76 percent; Beijing with 234 sets, down 13.33 percent.
