Devsons garment weaving machine gets patent

Yengkhom Devson Singh, the mechanical engineer turned fashion designer from Manipur, has added another feather in his cap.

Devson, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) student, has invented a seamless garment weaving machine.

The Ministry of Industries has given recognition to Devson`s machine and granted a patent for the same.

According to the New Delhi based designer, the machine named 'Bem' could give any kind of stitchless outfit. This would create a new wave in the world of garment and textile industries.

The young designer is a winner of Eclipse Flash Design Vision Award for Women's Avant Garde, 2003 at the Hammerstein Ballroom, New York City.
