The new system can, it is estimated, offer a payback period of less than six months and contribute to a net gain of €230,000 in 10 years.

Variable Speed Drive (VSD):
Further direct energy savings of up to 35% can be achieved with the VSD facility, designed to perfectly match the variations in air demand throughout the production process.

The supply frequency from the frequency converter to the electric motor is set by the air demand.

When demand is low, the frequency is reduced thereby slowing the motor and reducing the compressor output. When demand is high the process is reversed.

This method ensures a perfect match between air demand and air supply, dramatically reducing energy requirements.

The VSD solution ensures unload losses are reduced to a minimum, no 'blow-off' of compressed air to the atmosphere and eliminates load / no load transaction losses..

The precise pressure control of the VSD compressors allows for a tighter pressure band and a lower average working pressure, resulting in reduced energy consumption.

Compact build:
The new ZR/ZT 55-90 series of oil-free compressors are housed in a new compactly designed enclosure. Measuring just 2180 x 1450 x 2184 mm – 3330 x 1450 x 2184 mm, only the length varies, the height and width always remains depending on the model; the compressor is well suited for plant rooms where space is a premium.

All options of the new ZT/ZR series are housed in a single fully integrated enclosure featuring an absolute minimum of external pipes to ensure a simple and 'neat' installation.
