Export of towel, bedding, socks, clothing and other products are the main revenue earner for Pakistan textile industry. Since 1999, exports of these items have really moved up, thus increasing the demand for textile machineries.
Presently, in order to face international competition, Pakistan Government has introduced many preferable policies to support the local textile enterprises. Authorities have nullified import taxes on some textile machinaries like combing machines and in order to upgrade textile equipments in the companies, limits on the import of these would be cancelled.
According to the statistics, by the end of 2005, investments in textile industry was about US $5 billion and still increasing. Currently, the weaving sector is the hot spot for investment.
This has provided a good business opportunity for Chinese textile weaving equipments and other related machinery manufacturers, as demand for these in Pakistan is moving up day by day. In recent years, the sale of Chinese textile machines has increased in country.
