Import duties on textile machinery to go

Import customs duties for certain light and textile industries machinery may go, informed Andrei Kushnirenko, Deputy Director of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry's trade negotiations department, Tuesday.

Speaking at the session of the Commerce and Industry Chamber, he said that an interdepartmental commission on protective measures in foreign trade and the customs-tariff policy would consider the cancellation of import customs duties for Jacquard looms and other equipment.

Kushnirenko said subject to commission's approval, the proposal it would be submitted to the government in a week or ten days. Four or five similar resolutions have already been adopted so far, he added.
