Although, fully automatic machines are available in the market, they cannot match working capacities of the semi-automatic ones. The full-automatic sewing machine has few defects like it needs manual attention to avoid overlapping of soft fabrics. Thus, most companies prefer semi-automatic sewing machines.
Besides, the cost of fully automatic sewing machines is quite high. Installing of such machines needs a lot of investment. The current price of such machines is around 0.42 million yuan per set, whereas, semi-automatic can be purchased at about 0.15 million yuan.
Thus, installation of these machines would increase the cost of production where as labor cost in countries like China, India is very low. However, experts believe that in future fully-automatic machines will be adopted by textile enterprises.
