SmartIndigo plays a vital role in facilitating significant progress for denim brands that want to sell eco-friendly and sustainable products. Textile factories can integrate the new process in their production not only to save money, but also have a cleaner process. Consumers are increasingly conscious about the ecologic footprint of the products and get a more sustainable product, SmartIndigo said in a press release.
“We’ve combined economy and ecology in one groundbreaking innovation,” said Werner Volkaert, managing director of Sedo Engineering. “Denim brands and textile factories can move towards this sustainable production structure easily and with more benefits at a lower cost. It is a win-win solution for our clients, their employees, and consumers.”
Using electricity instead of toxic chemicals to dissolve indigo dyes can not only make a big environmental and economic leap, but also reduce water consumption by 70 per cent, for example by eliminating the need to dilute wastewater.
To date, more than 20 SmartIndigo machines are already installed at leading denim producers, helping them to achieve a cleaner production. Some of them have already ordered the second or third machines, seeing the success of their new installation. Also, they are happy with the intensity shading and their economical payback.
SmartIndigo will showcase its solutions at ITMA ASIA + CITME 2022 in hall 5, stand C25 at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre in Shanghai.
