Indian investors can explore a number of high potential sectors in Egypt like textiles, Information and Communication Technology, and wind and solar energy among other sectors, Egyptian Ambassador to India, Hatem Tageldin has said.

His comments came during an interaction at the MCC Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Kolkata.

The textiles industry is the largest industry in the Egyptian economy, but there only two little known Indian readymade garment (RMG) companies in that country.

India has been complementing to the Egyptian apparel industry for a long time. Egypt imports a significant part of textiles from India for its growing garmenting units. Cotton, man-made textiles, made-ups, carpets and apparels are the leading items that Egypt imports from India. The country imports nearly 24.61 per cent of its requirements of cotton from India.
