The first round consultations of Version 3.0 China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (FTA) negotiations started recently in Beijing, according to the Chinese commerce ministry. Representatives from China and members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, as well as officials from the ASEAN Secretariat, attended the meeting via video conference.Both sides held in-depth discussions on the procedural rules, organisational arrangements and work plans of the negotiations, and worked out a timetable and road map for follow-up negotiations, a news agency reported.
China and ASEAN had jointly announced last November the official launch of the negotiations.
