Bangladeshi commerce minister Tipu Munshi and Chinese ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming recently launched the Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB) in Dhaka to bolster Chinese trade and investment in Bangladesh. The association has about 240 Chinese companies operating in Bangladesh. China is the largest development partner of Bangladesh.

Executive chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority Sirajul Islam, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) president Sheikh Fazle Fahim and CEAB president Lin Weiqiang were present at the inauguration ceremony.

Munshi urged the attending businessmen to work progressively to boost Chinese trade and investment in the country, according to bangle media reports.

Bangladesh's association with China's Belt and Road Initiative since 2016 has accelerated with the implementation of key infrastructure and connectivity projects, said Fahim.
