Bangladesh's garment company to invest $5.5 mn in Ishwardi EPZ

Bangladeshi company Royal Sewing (BD) Ltd has signed an agreement with Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) in order to establish a garments industry in the Ishwardi Export Processing Zone (IEPZ) at an investment of $5.5 million. The investment is expected to create employment opportunities for over 1,070 Bangladeshi nationals.

Royal Sewing (BD) Ltd will manufacture 2.7 million pieces of different types of readymade garment (RMG) products, home textiles, pillows, blankets, cushions, etc annually, according to a press release by BEPZA.

In the presence of the BEPZA executive chairman major general Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, BEPZA and Royal Sewing signed an agreement to this effect at BEPZA Complex, Dhaka. Member (investment promotion) of BEPZA Ali Reza Mazid and chairman of Royal Sewing (BD) Kabir Ahmed inked the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. 

Member (engineering) Mohammad Faruque Alam, member (finance) Nafisa Banu, executive director (administration) Md Zakir Hossain Chowdhury, executive director (investment promotion) Md Tanvir Hossain, and additional executive director (public relations) Anwar Parvez along with other representatives of the enterprise were present during the signing ceremony.
