Bangladesh's GDP $416 bn in FY21

Bangladesh's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 6.94 per cent and its per capita income increased to $2,591 in fiscal 2020-21, planning minister MA Mannan said after a meeting of the executive committee of the National Economic Council recently. The Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) placed its final report on the country’s GDP growth at the meeting.

Mannan said the provisional growth estimate was 5.43 per cent; however by the end, it increased by 1.51 percentage points, according to Bangla media reports.

According to the BBS report, the country’s GDP was $416 billion in FY21 against the initial estimate of $411 billion.

Meanwhile, the country’s per capita income has increased to $2,591 against the previous estimate of $2,554.
