Bangladesh's Matin Spinning expands melange yarn unit

Matin Spinning Mills Limited, a concern of Bangladesh's DBL Group inaugurated its expanded melange unit on March 28 in Kashimpur, Gazipur to expand its production capacity by 10 tonnes a day of Melange yarn to meet the company's growing demand for high-quality yarn.

The additional capacity of producing melange yarn will boost the total capacity to 35 tonnes a day, the Group announced on its website.

The company raised Tk 126 crore through an initial public offering, to set up its melange project. The expanded unit will be one of the most modern spinning mills in Bangladesh with state-of-the-art machinery from Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Japan.

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) said in a disclosure on its website that the plant would work for 350 days a year with a capacity utilization of 90 per cent. (SH)
