This diverse gathering underscores India's emergence as a global textile powerhouse.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spearheaded the launch ceremony at Delhi's Bharat Mandapam, symbolising a unified effort towards propelling India's textile sector onto the international stage. Organised by 11 Textile Export Promotion Councils in collaboration with the ministry of textiles, this four-day extravaganza is dedicated to fostering trade, investment, and sustainability.

The event boasts an array of key features aimed at enriching the experience of attendees. It offers a comprehensive showcase of diverse segments within the textile industry, ranging from apparel and home furnishings to technical textiles and handicrafts. A special focus on India's fashion retail market opportunities is highlighted through the Retail High Street section. Dedicated pavilions underscore the event's commitment to sustainability and recycling, with a spotlight on initiatives like the Tiruppur sustainable cluster and the Panipat recycling cluster, the event organisers said in a press release.

Attendees can also immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Indian textile heritage through a captivating fashion show. Moreover, the event serves as a platform for the grand launch of significant government initiatives, including Kasturi Cotton, Vision Nxt, and India Size, aimed at furthering the industry's growth trajectory. Additionally, Indi-Haat showcases India's traditional handicrafts and handlooms sector, while interactive fabric testing zones and product demonstrations offer insights into cutting-edge innovations.

Art jugalbandi sessions delve into sustainability, complemented by masterclasses led by craftspeople with a heritage spanning over three generations. Finally, the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between various stakeholders underscores the event's role in facilitating investment, technology transfer, and collaborative research efforts within the textile industry ecosystem.

Bharat Tex 2024 aims to draw in top-level policy makers, business CEOs, investors, textile thought leaders, industry captains, sustainability champions, multilateral organisations, global institutes, and other stakeholders to engage in discussions on the challenges facing the global textiles industry and how India's strengths can be utilised to address them.

The event will feature key knowledge sessions, including three dedicated CXO Roundtables focusing on international, domestic, and technical textiles. Over 40 per cent of all sessions will centre around sustainability, resilient value chains, and India's position in the global textiles industry. There will be 14 flagship sessions covering topics such as ESG, sustainability, circularity, recycling, and green financing.

Additionally, there will be sessions dedicated to exploring opportunities, investment, and trade through three country sessions and five state sessions. Topics such as large-scale investment (PLI), infrastructure (PM MITRA), and ease of doing business in the future of Indian textiles will also be discussed in dedicated sessions.

Moreover, there will be sessions focusing on growth drivers like synthetic fibres and technical textiles, as well as discussions on global mega trends shaping the industry's future and the role of India as a preferred sourcing destination within resilient global value chains, the release added.

The event will also delve into India's textiles vision for 2047, the future of retailing in one of the world's fastest-growing consumer markets, and strategies for weaving ultra-luxury brands from India for global markets. Digitization, start-ups and entrepreneurship, skilling and productivity enhancement, and decolonizing Indian crafts to build a strong 'Brand India' for traditional sectors such as handicrafts and handlooms will also be explored.

Furthermore, there will be various sessions covering topics such as India's size, standards, QCOs, handmade carpets, and more.
