Cambodia recently announced the implementation of a zero-per cent customs tariff on goods originating from the United States.

“A customs tariff rate of 0 per cent shall be applied to goods originating in the United States and imported into the Kingdom of Cambodia from the United States,” a sub-decree signed by Prime Minister Hun Manet today stated in article 1.

The zero-tariff rate will, however, not apply to used goods, article 2 of the sub-decree made it clear, domestic media outlets reported.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance will issue a proclamation to set out the procedures for implementing the customs tariff rate on goods imported from the United States.

“Any provisions contrary to this sub-decree shall be abrogated,” the sub-decree added.
