Cambodia’s gross domestic product (GDP) is anticipated to go up by 6.6 per cent in 2023, bolstered by external demands and the recovery of the domestic economy, as per the draft of the 2023 budget law approved at a recent plenary weekly cabinet meeting of the Cambodian government.

The country’s economy in 2022 is projected to continue its growth at 5.4 per cent regardless of the effects of the Russia-Ukraine war crisis, according to the minister attached to the Prime Minister and chairman of royal government spokesperson unit Phay Siphan.

“Thanks to external demands and the return to normal of domestic economy, the Cambodian economic growth in 2023 is projected to be at 6.6 percent,” said Siphan in a Facebook post. “Cambodia’s economic growth in 2023 will be supported by key economic sectors, including industry, services, and agriculture.”
