The gross domestic product (GDP) per capita of the country is now $1,377. The human assets index is 8.3 points above the threshold at 74.3, and the economic and environment vulnerable index is at 30.6.
However, at a recent workshop on preparing for a sustainable LDC graduation of Cambodia, Pauline Tamesis of the UN Resident Coordinator Office noted that these positive statistics had yet to be offset against the impact of the pandemic, a Cambodian newspaper reported.
Cambodia needs to “accelerate its efforts to recover better from the pandemic and reduce vulnerability and inequality,” she added.
