Chiba Chemicals Manufacturing LLP, a joint venture between two Japanese companies, Idemitsu Kosan and Mitsui Chemicals, is increasing the propane processing capacity of ethylene manufacturing facilities of its Anegasaki plant. The purpose of the expansion is to utilise the strength of an adjacent LPG import facility in Idemitsu's Chiba Refinery.

Idemitsu and Mitsui established Chiba Chemicals Manufacturing in 2010, for the joint operation of ethylene manufacturing facilities of both companies, with the objective to present an ethylene facility with top-level competitiveness in the Asian region.

According to the joint venture partners, the expansion will enhance the profitability of the facilities because of diversified materials, which will be carried out beginning from 2017. (AR)
